How do I use the oxygen station?
I built one far away from my base with the belief that it would let me refill my oxygen to max when I used it, but all I can do with it is hold down left click to get just enough oxygen to not let the number drop for too long. I have the game paused while writing this and I'm on 25s oxygen. Using the oxygen station keeps me at 25s as long as I look at it and hold left click. I assume this is either a bug or I'm not using it correctly, because otherwise the oxygen station is completely useless.
Edit: The oxygen does go up, but extremely slowly. I would probably have to use the station for several minutes to get the level high enough to actually do anything, though.

You can bring a new battery and switch it after you used the oxygen station. It seems to last as long as the battery lasts while you click to use it to refill.

That's why I started to build mini-bases instead in the demo (base module and entry).

Its system is very inefficient, perhaps the main problem is that it continues to consume oxygen when you are filling it up. It would be better for them to rework it.

I take the parts for a habitat building and an airlock with me. I jet one direction as far as I can stand it, then build the hab/airlock. Instant unlimited oxygen supply for exploring that area. The new building will use power from your base so if you get back home and everything is dark that might be why.

Transmitting energy without wires over vast distances - Tesla was right.

Yeah, it completely weirded me out that every station you build is part of the same power network despite not being physically connected to each other.

Each asteroid belt will have its own power. It's good how it is so you're not having to have independent power for each build in a single area.

It also lends itself to making lots of small stations all over the place to refill your O2 and makes the Oxygen Station completely useless.

If dedicating several slots of your inventory with the necessary materials then sure. I would personally find that a waste of space.

Also, as soon as you get the summon, they're useless anyway are they not?

Options...lots of options are good, as they give people a way to play their way. Some may want small airlocks all over the place, some may not.

You don't even need the habitat building, just an airlock by itself is sufficient for portable oxygen.
