Necro Whirl Spell Size
Feels like Necro Whirl Spell Size doesn't affect it. My friend had 0 size increase for necro whirl and I had over 100% increase. Same size in game

I just noticed this on Arcane Broadsword. I was standing still, got a 35% size increase, and it hit the exact same area next cast.

yeah, size% increase feels extremely reduced. Maybe they are inadvertently (or on purpose) dividing by a factor (100?).

I'm also seeing the same thing - almost feels like size mods just...aren't applying at all?

i've always said you need to get over 200% spell size to even start seeing actual changes

yeah the scaling feels a bit wonky, huge upgrades do little in the start, but when you get high enough, even small increases are noticeable - its like an inverted logarithmic scale or some ♥♥♥♥ xD
its like it chooses either spell total area, or diameter, which ever is the Smallest gain :P

Size scaling definitely affects the Solar Pulse and Arcane Broadsword... It's easiest to see it if you get both of them, and only increase the size of one. You can see them gradually become different sizes over time. It's very slight though, and takes a ton of increase % to get anywhere useful with it.

Size upgrades are based on the surface area of the spell, instead of diameter or length. Do remember the numbers are still being balanced! :D

Yep, this is why it feels a bit awkward.
Increasing the pizza size by 5% seems a lot, but in fact, it'll be hardly noticed, since we're talking about the WHOLE circle, not the radius.
This is why we need both some balancing tweaks AND a change in the description of the spell.

That is not how the description will be taken by players . Size increase to them is bigger effect size visual.

I find the various girth upgrade of the Spells satisfy me fully, it doesn't take much cajoling to get them big and there's probably some occasional issues with unexplained hidden mechanics (by example Added Projectile(s) make Necro Whirl smaller); that being said I agree the messaging is unclear and that simply communicating it better in advance would go a long way toward making everyone happy.

With Necrowhirl specifically I feel like once you get a massive increase, like 27% (Epic, Legendary?), there is one, two whirls which are really big, but then it goes back to what it was before. The size increase from upgrades is too small to really tell if this is a bug or just perspective and your mind playing a trick on you, but it happened a bunch of times to me.

Yeah, sometimes when you have 3 or 4 additional whirls, you cast less than your maximum amount. When this happens, the size of the whirls are enormous. Sometimes you'll cast 1, 2 or even 3, and the lesser the amount, the bigger the whirl; and when it casts your max amount of whirls, it's size goes back as if it didn't have any mod whatsoever.

Except even when I got 3 35% upgrades for default sun wizards spell the area changed exactly 0%. Took a screenshot and overlayed it showing there was exactly zero change with default sun wizard AOE spell. So it didn't have any effect on it whatsoever.

I can 100% assure you that size increases work on the Solar Pulse spell (Sun wizard's spell). I've had it covering half the screen before.

Bro I don’t know but I had the same problem, I played infinite mode with cheats and I just kept buying spell size to prove the point, after a while it doesn’t even grow anymore. Maybe it’s a bug for some people you can see it for some others you can’t.
But definetely not even half of the half of the screen
