Rerolls for elements.
I've been stuck on the quest to get wildfire on the solar pulse with Sun mage for about 6/7 hours. Why can we reroll every other reward in the game but not the elements ? I feel like it's something that would benefit the game.

it takes some time, keep playing and always pick fire. eventually you will get it.
(I've compeleted all achivements so I know the frustration)

good luck

I simply wish you could re-roll not only elements but the spell selection you get, obviously at the cost of health but simply that option would be nice, but I do like the forced choices of spell that makes you have to adjust your build on the fly

The elements I sort of agree with but if I remember right, there are only 2 achievements that worry about the elements and apart from that you wouldn't want to spend life on that choice. I feel the spell choice is great being forced on you though - it makes you better at playing those skills. The only one that is truly bad imo is that scepter gate one. Everything else is either surprisingly OP or you can adapt your playstyle to it.

I desperately want rerolls for elemental infusions. And also for spell picks.

I'd like to retract my statement on the Scepter Mesh, I actually love it and blocking off entire areas and then returning to a previous areas and still seeing the Scepters up because I got the duration so high, I basically create massive safe Zones, it's great and the Double frozen on the Scepter is so beautiful and game ending stats if you built correctly

I feel there aren't enough options to justify rerolls for spells and elements. There are only four elements so they might as well just let you pick freely instead of adding rerolls, but half the point of roguelike is that every run is different because you're forced to pick from limited options.

Even with rerolls you wouldn't be guaranteed your pick. The possibility exists that you use a reroll and get the exact same options a second time. And it would presumably be a reroll you have to pay health to use.

The problem with the way it is now is that it takes so blasted long to get your spells to level 14 to get the second infusion only to not get what you were hoping for, and at that point you feel like just restarting the run, but then you're more likely to just have it happen again than actually have it go the way you want. It's quite discouraging when you're wanting to see a specific "build".

I have to agree with Oscar, being able to get your "ideal build" or simply the build you want every run doesn't make the runs unique, each run shouldn't be the same because you want it too, you build to the options you get not what you demand the game to give to you, that's the point of a roguelike game, it took me days to get double Venom on the Sword guy for the achievements, of course it was annoying but I made all sorts of cool builds while waiting to get the one I wanted .... basically you deal with the cards you are dealt, you can't sneak in Aces in every game because it's not in your favor, as I assume everyone knows ... also getting to level 14 weapon doesn't really take that long unless you're just super impatient
I've tried several times to get Wildfire for Solar Pulse. It's so frustrating to the point that if the option to infuse fire into Solar Pulse isn't offered when the elements are first presented that I just quit that game and try again later. I suppose I could take the common option and hope that I'll get another chance but I haven't tried that tactic yet.
achievements aside (they are frustrating) even with only 4 elements it is amazing how many times you seem to random poison + ice. While they have their uses they are support/defensive elements. Having your primary dps skill random poison/ice on your first element of the game is a painful setback that forces you to cowering and stall until you get augments to overcome the handicap or get another skill to have get a dps element (assuming you managed to random other skills that can do decent dps)

I agree when it comes to spells, but I'd be lying if I said elements feel like they offer a distinct and unique feel to each run. I cannot for the life of me tell you the difference between fire/acid, and anything they pair with. Every element so far just feels like a color, and when you mix them, it just feels like a stronger but different color.

Since each run can other inadvertently doom you from RNG I highly suspect that is also by design. There is no reason why always picking fire, over acid will change your run so much that you feel like you would want one over the other. Personally I just diversify as much as possible, but even then its purely out of superstition that there might be some benefit I don't know about.

I can do a simple Crash Course explanation in case you don't fully understand, as well as for anyone who happen to read....

Acid Makes the enemy weaker allowing your weapons to deal more damage, Fire deals damage over time, Ice slows down enemies and Lightning jumps to the closest enemy at half damage each jump

Upgraded Acid makes the enemy even more weaker for harder hits, upgraded Fire has a higher Damage over time, upgraded Ice freezes faster, and Upgraded Lightning Jumps more and I believe deals more (I don't use Lightning too often to remember well) [/quote]
