[Announcement]Language Support for Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus on Steam
Dear Esteemed Rain Code Community,

We are delighted to unveil the official title announcement for Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus on Steam today!

In addition to this exciting news, we would like to take a moment within the forums to address the language support available for the title. Initially, the game will only support Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese languages. However, we are pleased to inform you that on October 1st, 2024, a patch will be released to extend language support to English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

We acknowledge the eager anticipation from our global community to experience the Steam version, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance your gaming experience.

Thank you for your continued support.

For all curious: Japan's fiscal year begins on April 1st and ends March 31st of the following year. The two six-month periods, from April 1st to September 30th and from October 1st to March 31st, make up the two halves of the fiscal year.

Really convenient how they just so happen to release language support for all other languages on the first day of the second half of the fiscal year, hm...

People who don't speak Japanese, Mandarin, or Traditional Chinese aren't going to buy this game on launch most likely, they're going to buy it when the support drops. This is all a ploy to increase their revenue and sales during the second half of the fiscal year for investors. They probably need to do this because they aren't releasing any other products during that time. All this at the expense of the rest of us who just want to play the damn game. Scummy move... :AI_Ota:

I also think it must be because of the translation that the game editor did. That translation is the property of that publisher and said translation is not compatible with the PC version or something like that and therefore cannot be used in the PC version. If that is correct, the developer would have to find another editor and, therefore, carry out the translation for the PC version and that would take these remaining months.
That is my opinion, that ONE of the reasons is the property of the translation already made and its compatibility with the PC version.

If that were true, the PS5 and XBox versions wouldn't also be delayed till October.

You're being a nerd.
Muricans would rather not have it on PC than not in English.......
As everyone else has already pointed out, the original Switch version (which I played and enjoyed a lot btw) already supported English in both text and audio, so I'm just curious why it's not just immediately there for this remaster, but oh well. It's not like I'm in a hurry.

If it helps, ignore the French, Italian, German and Spanish language support!  :steamhappy: :steamhappy:
