Not as straight forward as Exit 8
So, I watched letsplays of exit-8 and those kind of spoiled me as to how the game worked, so I never felt the need to actually get exit-8, but then this game came out so I immediately picked it up so I could experience it.

But then I played the game.... And I'm immediately lost. (Note this was written after like 15 minutes of gameplay).

There doesn't seem to be as straight-forward of a solution as exit-8, as in that game you have the singular choice to either pass forward or go back. You can't go back in this one. Instead you need to wait until the anomaly has disappeared... But obviously that can't be the only means of differing the anomalies.... Because A - If you don't notice the anomaly and it disappears, you haven't learned anything. and B - You shouldn't be able to solve every puzzle by just waiting.

Also, I have NO idea what train car I'm in at any given time. Unlike exit-8 which had large very apparent posters telling you how far you've gotten, I haven't noticed any kind of indicator as to what car I'm in or if I've been reset... (Might just be me being unobservant but I feel something that marks progress should be super noticeable.)

So basically, I sit in the car, I look around at all the posters and the guy and try to learn about the anomalies, but if I take too long to find one it vanishes and I don't know what to look for, if I find it early I can't do anything about it until it just vanishes, if I missed it and just go to the next car I have NO idea if I made progress or if I totally reset. Basically I just walk until I see a super apparent anomaly like the bloody window hand-prints or the car full of ghost-phasing passengers and then wait until I they disappear or they reset me....

I just feel like I'm missing a massive piece of the puzzle constantly as I'm playing.

Just look at doors top. The next station is indicated (that way you know your progress).

Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks for this thread and the reply, it definitely helped me as I was a bit confused over how this game worked vs. Exit 8. However, I must say, most of the anomalies I've encountered so far were rather obvious but also did need me to actively do something. Waiting would only work for maybe 1 or 2 so far.

Your english is fine, and thank you! I think because they blink I didn't notice they counted up.

See.... I keep running into obvious anomalies, but then they just kill me and I have no idea what I SHOULD have done to prevent that. Like just then I opened the car, walked in and VERY obviously the guy is standing in the hall blocking the path forward. I waited a bit but he didn't move. Eventually I walked forward and he killed me. NO idea how I'd deal with him and now I can't even experiment either.

That one I haven't experienced yet, I think. For the ones I had appear so far there were hint's on the floor or above the doors, others I found out myself.

It was also not to tell you, you're wrong. I just meant there's more to it and because of the random nature of the appearances it may gave both of us a different first impression.

Exactly. There's always a logic or a hint somewhere. I just reached the end of the game. It's not impossible.
But it's more difficult than the previous game.

For me it's the opposite, I found Exit 8 way more difficult and it took me longer. However it was my first game of this kind and I probably focused on the wrong things while missing others for a long enough time, so perhaps that's that. I just need to catch the rest of the missing anomalies now. I wonder how many there are.

Yeah, no I'm not taking offense to anything don't worry. I'm mostly just perplexed as to WHY I keep dying. I've learned a few more things:

1 - One of the reoccurring anomalies is an invisible man. NO idea what to do with him. Occasionally the exit train door will open on it's own and if you try to walk through it he kills you.

2 - SOMETIMES the car will fill with ghost-passengers. You can approach them, but not touch them. Other times there are pale-white ghosts, you CAN'T approach them, or you will die. No clue as to what you're meant to do to get through the car.

3 - DON'T GET OFF IN THE FOG! (Unless you want an achievement)

4 - Occasionally there's a car that has the message above the door saying "DON'T LOOK BACK". I got through that one.

5 - There's an anomaly where the pale ghost girl starts at the end of the car and when the lights go dim she blinks forward a few steps. You can't leave out the entrance door, I don't believe you can avoid the woman either as she's killed me before by being near. OH and if you treat it like red-light-green-light and go when the lights dim, she'll still kill you.

6 - Took me a minute to deduce this but the level counter ONLY increments if you solve an anomaly. Deducing a car is clean isn't rewarded.

Yeah, this one is a bit confusing at first. Mostly because you only go forwards, and the game lacks instructions.

When you're confused by an anomaly, look at the door message, it often has a message.
If the game tells you the anomaly needs to be cleared, look at it. Otherwise try to look down and not to touch whatever it is. That typically helps.

The pale glitched ghost can be avoided by keep looking at it and staying away from it (obviously inspired by SCP-173)

I had that one before. You just have to get past her and through the door. I did that by sitting down, so she would move to the side and not stand in the middle of the corridor. Then I went past her.

I am getting frustrated because I keep "dying" with no clue what I was supposed to do. One had the door open on its own as soon as I walked in so I walked up to it but not in, ran back but couldn't open that door so what else could I do? I tried to go through and died.

Unless there is a similar one: I had the open door one as well. You're just meant to go through. I wasn't aware anything else could happen.

I'm trying to clean up the remaining anomalies, down to 5 now. But it feels like only a single one spawns every 10 minutes or so. :( There really should be an option to "force" anomalies when you've completed a game like this.

EDIT: Okay nvm, I was overlooking something pretty obvious and now I feel stupid lmao.

Okay, I just looked up a guide on steam displaying all the anomalies and the I was probably talking about a different one than you.
