-You can increase your Spirit and Wits stats through quests or use cards like Adventurer's Kit and Brilliant Fool to increase the number of dice you have.
-You can complete quests until you're given one to enter the castle.
-You can try to hold as many cards with different symbols as you can so you can burn them.
In the case of the Palace Perils, the Wits Peril symbols are Wyld (tree), Sword, Shield, Rot (worm) and the Spirit Peril's are Wyld, Sun, Moon, Rot. So cards with those symbols are what you are aiming for based on which peril you are planning on entering.
And just for clearity's sake, the number of dice you roll by default is based on whether the peril is a trickery or spell peril, trickery tests Wits, spell tests Spirit. (palace perils are weird in that they all look like trickery cards, but the ones with the spirit flag test spirit regardless.) This is important as you don't want to enter a 4 symbol Spirit peril with a 2 Spirit character like Mercurio without buffing his stats or having items to give you more dice, because even if you have all the right symboled cards you won't have enough dice for the cards to 'consume' upon burning.
A little bit of a trick if you are short 1 or so symbols to burn is that, if one of your burns explodes (Normally Wyld, or Rot if Corrupted), is to burn that card and spend some time waiting for your bonus die to settle before burning your other matching cards. If it hits one of the other symbols you need, you don't need to burn a card of that symbol, saving a die to roll for whatever symbol you might still need. (More dice = better chace to hit!)
I hope that helps you out!
Spirit perils are always on the side that jut out futher (as the palace is kind of a diamond shape) Wit perils are always on the 'sides', if that makes any sense.
Try focussing on wits if you don't fell lucky. You can sacrifice your cards for attack or defense points.
And make sure you equip something to get some bonus in battle! ;D
Luck sometimes can be manipulated, don`t give up! ;D
This is usually what you would want to do with characters like Sana. Stuff like Immolation and Blizzard really, really come in handy.
prestige<spiritstone<kingslayer<<rot
with each, going left to right, ever more dependent on the rolls to go your way.
To give yourself the best chance of success with a kingslayer or rot run, keep starting a new game until the Royal Shield quest pops for your character. then at least when you attack the king, you'll have the best chance at defeating him without having to worry about missed dice rolls going to his side.
Sometimes you need to know when to give up on the quest...
On this cases go hunt banes/players it will raise your prestige (and steal from your opponent >:3).
You will also eventually get a free pass into the castle when you complete enough quests. From what I've seen it's around 5 or 6 though, so it's not an amazing bet.
