I dunno maybe I’m just jaded from far worse experiences. Likely e have you even played robocraft or stellar is? The devs practically remake those games each year.
How about you start this off on a non toxic base, and actually tell the devs, what exactly needs to be fixed in your eyes, why the things look "crap" in your opinion and what about the update was so wrong.
Saying things like "Mplayer needs to be fixed" doesn't help. What needs to be fixed?
This attitude you're showing right now, doesn't help anyone. The devs won't know what it is that you're suggesting, the players that read this don't seem to understand either, and you're comming of as incompetent.
Please, if you want to complain, that's okay. But give constructive criticism at least.
The game was bugged when 2.0 was launched but they're hammering out those defects. The devs need to test their releases better before launching it.
This is just off the top of my head:
-Numerous bugs still not fixed. Cub's blood still doesn't draw the closest bane to the tile; it instead draws a predetermined one over. Yordana's curse of fate still does absolutely nothing. To LoG's credit, they did fix a couple of old bugs -- after months.
-Complete utter fail at LOLORE, which was supposed to underpin several hero balancing decisions in the past. Bios for each hero of poor quality, previous bios for Horace, Zosha Barnaby, the bandits, thrown out the window and replaced with more generic pablum. Ghor's lore is for his previous hero power, conduit. The entirety of The Winter Wolf thrown into the trash bin. Hargrave. Numerous basic English spelling errors in the hero bios; Griotte's glorious accent to the throne (sp). Extra punctuation on the feed.
It's like they just threw an unmotivated intern on it and called it a day without giving it even a basic pass for QC.
-Quest roulette is a lie. We slowed the game down to 20% speed and tracked the symbols on the roulette; they do NOT match. Pass/fail symbols do not match the actual outcome. Giving people the illusion of choice only backfires when they realise it's an illusion and just get even more ticked off than they would have otherwise. The decision to introduce the quest roulette only extended the questing system, made questing take more time, and ticked people off.
-Skinner box mechanics: LoG simply exchanged one set of cheap mobile game gacha mechanics for another; now that countries are clamping down on lootboxes as a form of gambling, they've moved to level grinding and repetitive action.
Are there good points? Yes. I kind of like the hero loadout system, and the fact that you can't see who is in the lobby; I would personally extend that all the way to not being able to see who you're with until you're actually in-game. However, the OP is right in that it's all bells, whistles and cosmetics, and nothing to do with the actual game itself, which technical issues aside, has a whole bevy of balancing problems that could be addressed.
Like I said, things were changed for NO REASON and the devs did not focus on IMPROVING the game, instead the CHANGED the game.
Fix the mplayer as in
-freezing
-afk punishment
-leaving punishment
-desync
-time to find a game
-rankings/leaderboards
And you're that guy with "casual" nick who raged over the game not having any punishment system. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Armello, this is not a major competitive game. Chill your balls man.
Now 2.0 was major let down regarding game balancing, and fixing minor bugs that are widely reported on the Bugs section. But by god, I was really hoping for some ring rework, and maybe even some hero talents rework, just to make things fresh again.
I really enjoyed the new character selection system with the loadout stuff and dice for each one. Loved that part.
But I was too expecting far more. About the ai taking afk places, they'll fix it, so I don't think there's more than just wait for the patch.
And everytime I get a disconnect is because of something on my end. So I don't know about the desync thing.
Rankings and leaderboards? Boy, you're out there arent ya?
Personally, I prefer stats over fanboys going full defense mode.
The biggest issue to me, as a traditional Chinese user, is the translations are horrifyingly awful. I'm so glad they've launched the community localization project. Hope this game will become more awesome after devs stabilize 2.0 patch.
So far my response looks like I'm an apologist for the devs. Let me be clear that I'm just responding to your post. For example, I mentioned 4 major issues with 2.0; two of them cannot easily be justified. In particular, the UX around multiplayer with friends is simply incomplete. (Luckily it doesn't affect me.) There's a huge difference between MVP and short-changing on basic usability. The fact that this was incomplete was a known issue. It has unsurprisingly been a distraction from some of the obscure and unexpected bugs that cropped up. There are other changes that should have hit the cutting floor long before this one.
So do I think 2.0 was a perfect release? No.
Do I think it was as you describe: "a complete joke and failure"? Absolutely not.
I sincerely believe you're overreacting because the devs didn't implement your personal wish-list. And you've failed to consider the full consequences of some of those wishes.
