can we tone down the screaming from terrified settlements?

it's giving me PTSD, flashbacks and generally bad vibes. maybe just play the loop sound when the village is selected or its first terrified or something.

seriously,

having women and children screaming for 60 odd minutes is kind of horrid.

Just kidding, it does get kind of irritating if it's all game and out of reach.

Perhaps more of a volume drop off if the settlement is off screen or further away from the centre of the screen?

Simply move your screen away. The screaming rapidly dies down once it's off-screen.

I realise that, but it's pretty intrusive as the map is quite small and settlements are often terrified somewhere near you. I think the best solution is just give the sound queue when it happens, it's pretty obvious to tell when settlements are terrified visually. Or hey, maybe people want women and children screaming from their speakers all the time..
