I don't think she's bad, her hero power is pretty good and her stats are nice except for her low body. I usually play her with the body amulet and try to fight the king, it works well for me.
The only big consideration for Zosha that comes to mind is making sure you try to attack the king at night so other players have trouble stopping you. If nobody is within attack range, you can more than likely just get a free attack in.
Also, the evade ring makes it pretty hard to actually win games a lot of times. Every win besides prestige requires you to hold the palace unless you draw an ap card. You kinda back yourself into a corner from the start of the game when you pick that ring. Forcing yourself to need an ap card also defeats part of the purpose Zosha's power serves. You also get less value from her high starting fight.
Well I suppose I haven't tried to focus on fighting the king as much, I usually only tried when I have a high amount of rot or got some good weapons. I usually ended up feeling like if I fought the king I'd just trade and I'm usually not at the top of prestiege (not sure if you can win if you both die but you still have highest prestiege).
I didn't know about this though, when stealth people can't see me enter the castle? Or is it about just going in when no one is around. In pursuit of my quests I wasn't really sure when I'm actually capable of winning the fight and usually don't even try until I get the quest key.
I usually ended up trying to do prestiege victory then after failing that like 10 times due to getting killed across the map by spells or drained through trickery I usually failed as I couldn't kill enough to maintain a lead even with the prestiege ring.
I only went to that ring as a desperation move to try and find a win condition in just trying to collect the spirit stones.
They can't see you enter the castle but King's roar and disappearance of peril flag give them hint of your location.
Ring that gives first sword explosion is great for her. With decent items, nobody's going confront a rat with explosive dices and high fight.
I usually choose spirit amulet and go 6, 5, 6, 4 or 6, 6, 5, 4 if corrupted. Additional points in wits and spirits helps her a lot in finding good cards like teleport, banish, rotten stuff, etc
Hope that helps ^^
Depending on how low the king's health is, your gear doesn't matter that much. If you want to be brazen and attack him while he's at 4 or 5 health, then you do really want some good gear, a rot advantage and/or a card like mirror images. If the king is at 2 or 3 hp, your gear doesn't matter as much and even the weakest combat items can get the job done.
The major advantage to stealth in the palace is that nobody can play cards to you. They'll physically see you in the palace at one point regardless because you either enter during the day without stealth or you entered at night and lose stealth at dawn. The power just makes it much harder for them to do anything about it. Ideally, you still want to enter when nobody is in attack range because being attacked will reveal you to everybody.
As Edragon said, the body amulet is a good idea on Zosha. I think it's still one of the more common picks. Though I prefer resist on Zosha because it offers more defensive value if I fight a lot of things. Also, it helps with perils and works with the tanzanite ring. Zosha is a hero where you have plenty of reasonable amulet choices. Even if most people wouldn't do it, increasing your wits, spirit or even fight instead isn't necessarily bad. It all just depends on how you play the game and what's more useful for you. Having said that, I do suggest ditching the prestige one entirely. You'll gain more prestige anyway by virtue of being a stronger character from having 1 more stat on top of the other benefits they can provide.
