About boxes, keys and commerciable items in general
Hi, a lot of time has passed since the last time I played Armello and everything I listed in the title didn't exist back then. Can someone please explain to me what it's all about? What can you get from chests, how do you get those chests, how do you get the keys to open such chests...

I'm not sure how much the mechanics have really changed since last you played (they really shouldn't have very much). But here's a run down:

After each game you get a coin toss, the game flips the coin automatically and you (supposedly) have a "50/50" chance of getting either a chest or a key.

Once you have a chest AND key you can use the key to open the chest (obviously) inside of each chest you will get a die that can be of varying rarities (which I do not care to memorize, or really matter)

The dice you collect have absolutely NO influence on actually gameplay mechanics in any way, shape, form, or fashion. (Ex: Rarer dice give you better rolls) Other than the purpose of being a cosmetic feature. A skin if you will. (and one of them is actually made of skin ironically).

All (correction: MOST) the Dice, Chests, and Keys are tradable and marketable. (a few are given as rewards for kickstarter backers, or twitch followers, etc.) Obviously the rarer ones will be higher in price, as well as the older dice from previous collections that are no longer available for normal drops, however the prices of each die, chest, and key are subject to the community.

A few dice are event drops. Dice which are created for the sole intent of being dropped during an event. (Usually a holiday, or anniversary of some kind). You don't require a chest or key for these dice, they will simply drop for you at the end of games (though I have personally never gotten one). However the chances for these dice are slim because the drop rates are low. But vary wildly, with some people getting 2 event dice for a single event in one day, or a person playing 13+ games without getting a single one.

This guide (should) contain(s) "information" on every single die, chest and key collection that is and was in the game at some point. Hope it helps. (It's also sometimes just really cool to look at all the dice.)

TYVM, one last question, do you get any of these playing against AI?

You must start the game with 4 humans, a least onefrom the public queue (cant all just be invited friends). As long as you finish the game, even if others were replaced with ai, you get a coin chance.

Certain bad behaviors turn off the coin chance, and theres a cap of around 6 coins per day. The bad behaviors include going afk for many turns, skipping your turns with no actions, or commiting suicide attacks vs the king with little chance of succes just to get game over faster.

Hopefully the coin cap will further discourage those that attempt these behaviors.

You can also transmogrify 5 dice of 1 rarity into a die of the next highest rarity.
