Report a translation problem
It's not a bug, just a not-immediately-obvious consequence of the way things are resolved. Poison takes effect after you move, but combat takes effect before you move, and victory is determined as soon as the king dies.
i was confused too, but here is the explanation haha.
Basically, the game ends as soon as The King dies. SO, if you kill The King and THEN die, it doesn't matter because you're still the first player to win the throne. Although brief, you became The King of Armello.

Yep was me you were playing with. Was really annoyed I didn't have any more swords to burn, so had to hope the poisoned apple could stop you winning :P
