Expectations and game mechanics
Hi there,
Randomly had the game suggested by steam and purchased because of the nice visuals and small dev team. However there's less 'game' here than I was expecting. I think I was hoping for something a little more like 'Cookard' or the original sushi store part of 'Dave the Diver' where there's a customer queue and they don't like to wait too long or will leave. A small amount of ingredient prep would be necessary. Some staff would be needed to serve customers. Etc.

After playing a bit I can see it's more about ambiance and slowly upgrading your shop's decor. Perhaps the game mechanics can always reward bonuses rather than having fail conditions so an 'auto' mode still works. But things like:

- Customer's don't show the meal that asked after ordering, if you click on them again they remind you. However if you bring them the right meal without being reminded you make bonus money
- Have a way to tell the Chef what to make rather than auto making what the customer asks for. Perhaps shelves could show what dishes are prepared

Overall I think this looks like a cute experience. But doesn't feel like it much of a game. I really don't mean any negative comparisons with this, but it feels like if it has 'auto' and a time speedup option it's more a store doll-house type experience. I feel like that should be communicated more in the game description on the steam shop page. I'm happy to support indie studios but when I was younger I probably would have refunded it based on my expectations coming into it.

Don't mean that to be discouraging, I think it's cute and a nice start. But I do think some messaging changes on what gameplay is like could be helpful.

Hi,

Thank you so much for your detailed and kind feedback! As a solo developer working on Midori no Kaori, I’m doing my best to manage the game while also taking into account all the helpful suggestions players like you provide. My ultimate goal is to improve the game based on player requests and create an experience that feels both interactive and enjoyable.

I have plans to add many new mechanics in the future, but I do find it challenging to stay true to the vision and unique atmosphere of Midori no Kaori. Your insights are incredibly valuable, and I truly appreciate the time you took to share them.

I’ll make it a priority to incorporate more interactive elements soon to make the game even more engaging. Thank you again for your kindness and support,it means a lot! 😊
