I'm going to uninstall. I'm sure the game is fine though, but...I'm going to avoid it. If like 50+ other MMORPGs don't have these problems with their EXEs and anti-cheats, this game shouldn't either.
1) Closed Steam and opened it as admin.
2) Opened AVG and added the directory of Echo Of Soul, to my exception list. Inside AVG settings exception list.
3) In the AVG advanced settings while it is still open go into 'Identity Protection'. Make sure it's set to always prompt.
4) Verify game cache of EOS
5) Open the game. AVG Identity should prompt you if the EOS.exe is a trojan and will attempt to remove it. Click on allow it and it will add it to exceptions list.
6) EOS crashed for me when AVG interferred. I had to open 'Windows Task Manager' Under the preocess tab, close the EOS.exe task.
7) At this point you should be able to open and launch the game.
This is what I did to get the game to work. I found out over trial and error, hope this helps.
However, don't worry! The only reason why this is happening is because these AVs cannot access some of the data of the game.
This data is actually protected in order to prevent any unwanted modification on the game, but is it flagged by the anti-virus as a potential threat because it cannot be scanned.
There is a way to work around it: all you have to do is to add the game files as an exception in your AV settings.
Here are a few examples of how this can be done.
If you manually go in AV quarantine section and give an order to restore and skip the scanning then you will get the game working.
I did that however AVG identity protector will auto delete files, if you don't set it to 'always prompt.'
I haven't got a baked bean here lads..
