I think I finally understand the game
After the dev fixed the controls, which I'm grateful for, I still couldn't really into the game. Only now, after like 15 hours in do I get it.

Originally, when I saw +4 wood or +6 stone, I assumed that was how much the building was producing. I was frustrated when I connected wood, stone, and iron islands via trade, yet the resources didn't fully transfer over. Now I understand it's based on hops. So expanding/building out like a typical city-builder doesn't work in this game.

You have to be creative with your space and layouts to maximize efficiency. You have to build vertically. It's actually quite unique and brilliant.

I think I'm going to probably restart for the 4th or 5th time now (lol) now that I finally get it.

I do wish the map was randomized a bit such as maybe faction locations and an expansion of "random" events. I also wish we did get to see workers on the walkways or in the towers.

I don't think the tutorial does a good job of explaining things. It maybe explains 1/10th of the game's mechanics. I also feel that some players feel like they've seen everything the game has to offer once they establish a successful trade route or all the resources instead of realizing they need to continue expanding their populations with factions.

Honestly, this is a very unique game and I'm pretty addicted now.

Yeh i think this is the hardest thing to explain. Its said multiple times and its even in the loading screen :)

Same for the expansion to unlock more content..

I am thinking how to explain it better

For the time being Ive added some tips and tricks to the menu that also explain the hops yesterday .

Am digesting how else to communicate. I think because it is so unexpected folks just assume its a normal system of amounts.

I am most glad that now that it clicked its more enjoyable..

:). Explanations and tutorials can be fixed. Its the core mechanics that count

Hi Muppetpuppet, if I understand correctly, it is therefore best to minimize the distance from the target structure (say a tower) and the resource it needs? Distance (for resource calculation purposes) is measured by the discrete NUMBER of walkways, not the total combined screen length of them, right?

Yes think of it as a nodal network. So yeh each walkway .
