Longest possible contiguous settlement?
While trying to connect two settlements north and south of The Maw by land, I ended up building my longest settlement yet.

It got me to thinking, what's the longest possible settlement one can build on the map? What's the longest settlement you've managed to build, either in terms of connecting distant points or having lots of towers in a long line?

Since there are bridgeable gaps of deep ocean between many of the shallow ocean areas, I wonder if it's possible to build a settlement that crosses the entire map in any direction. Idk if devman even tested such a thing but I now have a megalomaniacal urge to try.

Hey, thanks for making this cool game!

I did share a couple screenshots of my bridge across The Maw but I think I can build something much longer if I start a new game with that expressed purpose. Will likely need the Mancer/Imperial wonder to push the limits since some deep ocean gaps are too wide to bridge conventionally.

Is it possible to attain more than one wonder? I did try getting the Bannerless wonder after I'd claimed the Imperial one but I couldn't trigger the dialogue after combat. I assume that was a bug but I haven't tested it since.

In any case, I'll be sure to share some screenshots/video of my Belt and Road Initiative. :P

people on discord have wrestled most wonders out.

I think only mancer and imperial wonders might be exclusive to each other

I guess that might make sense lore-wise tho I do recall seeing a screenshot with both of them in it. Will try to get them both at some point.

Edit: Just figured out a trick with foundations that should allow me to bridge just about any ocean gap with the Imperial wonder and enough time so I may not need the Mancer one after all. Also, I'm now pretty confident that it's possible to make a line of towers connecting any two points on the map, with enough time and effort.

Someone on reddit posted a video of their contiguous settlement.

They have it running in and out of all the resource nodes in the Maw.

how do they even achieve these builds before resources get used up and expire? I just encountered the mechanic and its making me feel like Id need to change game settings or expect to pack up and move regularly.

a quick look shows they unlocked their imperial wonder that gives a lot of resources..

There are now also a bunch of resource extractor random encounters that come in earlier , so you can get your extractor count up to 6, which is more than you would need

the puzzle is to manage with the limitiations, but it is easily possible with good ship use and also bridging the deep water with tall bridges, which helps a lot.

If you use the foundation push out exploit to put towers over open water, you can make a settlement that fits the ENTIRETY of the Maw. (probably a lot more than that too)

message me if you want and i can show you how to do it. its a pretty neat trick

its a cool trick, you can also stack towers on foundations of other towers and go straight up

I'm currently using this technique to build a massive causeway crossing the map NE to SW. I'm following a path through shallow water and land areas, only crossing deep ocean when I must. It can be done in a straight line but would likely take longer b/c of how much time it takes to build over deep ocean.

The Imperial wonder makes it so much easier. It's basically freebuild mode in a radius around it. While using it for my bridge project, I accidentally discovered you can build right on top of neutral settlements. Was tempted to build an imperial city level over a Banerless town I was trading with lol

idk if it was a bug or not, but i built too close to an imperial resource settlement, and when i got back on after closing the game, it had disappeared. so be careful building on settlements you dont own yet
