Great game except for the handling
I was really excited to try this after seeing the Penny Arcade "First 15" segment. And it is a fantastic looking and sounding game. But I HATE the floaty imprecise handling of the ship...removes all of the fun for me.

Sorry to hear that. We did try several control schemes for the player movement. One was where the ship moved immediately and the team received overwhelmingly negative feedback on how "floaty" it was. We have been trying to find the right balance of drift that gives the ship weight, but still allows for fast movement. Have you tried the game with keyboard/mouse combo or gamepad? They do offer a slightly different experience and we have found some perform one over the other.

Hi folks. I agree, the handling does feel loose. I'm using a gamepad and I'm a fan of twin stick shooters, but trying to thread between enemies when the screen is busy is way too difficult. Does the ship need that weight? I still think the game is effing awesome.

I love the control of the game. The slippery ship adds to the difficulty, and it feels more like a spaceship would (maybe), taking a minute to slow down as it can't use brakes so it would have to use reverse thrust.

I play on keyboard/mouse and I love the game. The only complaint I have is that it's not always apparent what you're upgrading--it would be nice if the ship flashed an example of what is the big projectile, small projectile, etc, for each level, as you hover over the slider for upgrading.

@mura Thanks for the reply. No, I didn't try mouse/keyboard...based on what I saw in the PA video, gamepad seems the right choice. I just really can't see playing it that way. And unfortunately with the current "weight" of the ship, it makes it nearly impossible to do any sort of precise navigation, like trying to pick up wubs.

@bravura I totally agree with you.

@bw13187 I agree with your comment on upgrading...the abstract representation on the equalizer doesn't always convey what will actually be improved or changed.
