Applying Template Overwrites All Pre Created Layers

When I try applying a template to cards it is overwriting all parts of the card. All I want to do is have the template added to the pre made card not overwrite it entirely which is what it does currently. I realize this may be a bit backwards as to how most people do things but for me being able to use a card as a template and then apply the changes to the rest of the cards is more what I look for in a template. Not a template that overwrites the entire card.

Checking the boxes in the template options to preserve images doesn't seem to work either, or it doesn't work how I think it should. Either way it doesn't seem to matter as the card I apply the template to just gets overwritten with whatever is on the template rather than the template adding to the card.

Again, I know my workflow may be unorthodox and I'm not sure if this is a bug 100% or if it is intended for the template to overwrite all parts of a card. So I guess this is either a Bug report or a Suggestion post.heh
