How do you dock the ship is there an easy way to do this?

training training and..... training ...

No seriously, don't sail to fast, drive slow, keep calm .
At low speed (3-4 kn) ships have a higher turnrate.
If you decide to go backwards you have tu turn the rudder in the opposite direction .
The camera will help you as long as they turn in to movment direction of the ship.

Try easy ports first , for example Lissabon or Port Said
Dublin, Hamburg or St. Petersburg are even harder .

Oh and hiting the landingzone with less than 2 kn will do fine

The only ports (so far) where I've had to call a tug for rescue. :ghlol:

I've had some fun drifting Feeders in sideways. Blast in at 6kn, crank the rudder, get the nose in then counter-steer with a notch of reverse thrust. Makes for either record-setting docking times or disastrous ship-and-port damage.

From which moment exactly I can unlock whole world map ? I visited all European and North Africa harbours, so what conditions exactly I need to fulfill to have whole world please?

Couple tips that I'd recommend:

NEVER take a company contract unless you've been to the originating port already. Even if you accept the contract, you'll still have to find a cargo going to that port to unlock it before you can start working the contract.

Keep enough cash in the bank to replace a ship if necessary. The buffer will prevent problems when the investor wants her cut. Also, pirate ransoms are almost the cost of a whole ship.

Thanks for posting this since there' s no manual accompanying the game. I have a question though with regards to advancing to each next level. I see that all of my required pieces are green and have a 0 next to them, except for contracts. It has a black 5 next to it. I've completed at least 7 contracts already. Does this mean I must complete 5 contracts at the same time to elevate to the next level?

I've gotten all of the contracts from her, since they are saved in her window. I have completed 7 already, though not all at once.

How to get rid of that thievish investor? I hate her, she gave me 8 000 000 money to start a company and now she takes more than 30 millions every few month, how am I suppose to make a decent profit with such crazy fees she demands + refueling and mainteance of my ships....... :D

how do you unlock more subsidiaries? I have 2 but I can't seem to find out how to unlock the 3rd. I have panamax ships, unlocked the world for shipping. have done everything else except 1 more subsidiary to get the next level but have 0 available.. :(
strykerpsg Sep 28, 2014 @ 3:30am
The subsidaries must be opened in certain area's, for example 1 in South America, another in LA, another in Japan, etcetera. Also, you only open a particular number per level you're on. As you click on the various ports, they'll tell you whether or not you can open a subisidary or not.

why? time is money - speed is fun XD

not really...
here are 3 examples (including Hamburg) how to easy dock / undock. You dont need to drive at max speed - i made it just 4 fun and for beating records - but the way HOW to dock is same. Just it is much more easier with 4 knots

litlle bit of training together with a little sense for physics, then un-/docking is really easy

BTW: there should be some "speed-docking-achievements" *smile*

Personally I'd like to see the dock option to be completely automated at some stage in the game. if I have 15+ ships running around the world. I'd like to be able to pick up a couple of contracts and tell it to auto-dock, wait X days for contracts going to the next port and auto-travel to the next dock.

You can already do the 'next dock' thing - which doesn't do much AFAIK. it shows fuel usage but you can change that. no extra contracts for that are up - cause if you advertise where you're going in advance that wouldn't occur..

@Hyperserver:
That are some really cool docking maneuvers!!! Awesome, so fast O_o ! Rambo-style with 10 knots right into the harbor. ...but without all the explosions...

@Andrea:
thx - like to hear such a compliment from a developer XD

but what do ya mean by "... but without all the explosions..." ???

maybe you can answer in German? Its my native language and you devs are german too - i think XD

=> das wüde die Sache nämlich vereinfachen *lach*
