I watched a gameplay video somewhere and from what I can tell this title looks and plays almost exactly like Ports of Call, just with updated graphics and mechanics. I'd call it a... homage. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I loved Ports of Call and spent quite a lot of time playing it and have very fond memories of it. I do hope they have greatly expanded on its gameplay and ideas though. PoC was a very good game for its time, but it has been two decades since then.

I really though there was an Indie development of Ports of Call out there, that had a free demo and a purchasable key. But, I can't seem to find it. I did find this reference and a newer version still available:

@maligner i know which one u mean. try searching for ports of call xxl. but be warned. free play is only 1 hour after that u need to purchase a license. the content with these licenses vary, but all get increased starting money (ranging from 4,5millions to 10millions). for access to all features u need the platinum for 40 euro.

i`ll be honest i never played the original poc but this "new" versions ui was a huge pain in the butt, maybe it was like that back i dont know. but nonetheless it felt either way like a ripoff consindering the price.

Well, youre talking about the original Ports of Call. The Amiga-Version, as well as XXL, was developed by the same person.
However, the last Version of Ports of Call XXL, and all the other PC-Variants of the Game, dont run on actual Versions of the needed Adobe-Software ;)
You only have a tiny box on the screen, which looks a little bit ridicoulous on my 30" Screen, you cant read or see anything.

So, there is no Ports of Call available that runs on Hardware more recent than Windows 7....

Thats why this game here has a Market ;)

Here's one with sound that's a little over 30 minutes. There is noise between screens that may or may not be the disk drive, but was not part of the game. You can see the graphics were crisp at times, but rudimentary. Still, for the day, there was nothing better than an Amiga. Note the developers at the beginning.
