Splitting stacks

Is there a way to split stacks of ammo? like if i have a big box of ammo but i dont want to unload the entire thing at once in combat because that would take too long?

There is a roundabout way if I understand your problem. Assuming you have BSM installed (this may be a community patch thing, not sure), you can divide a large box of ammo into smaller sizes by filling an empty magazine or weapon. Remove the ammo you just added, and put it in a pocket. Do this again, and you can see that the rounds in your pocket have doubled. Or put another way, placing rounds in your pocket 'stacks'.

ok but there is not simple way to split a pile of bullets in two without putting it into boxes and taking it back out? like what if i only want to unload half of my 200 round box of 30-06 in combat instead of all 200 and having it take 60 seconds. what if i want to move half of a pile of 100 shotgun shells. No option to divide stacks like in Man of Prey which is on same engine as far as i understand?

Volk, no, I haven't seen something like that. If you are doing a lot of sorting like that, hit the + key on numeric pad to maximum time acceleration. This is also good for those long walks to quest givers upon entering a zone. 60s becomes closer to 10s. Time acceleration (+) is really only useful in non-combat situations though, sorry. The only items able to be split (that I know of) are the taped magazines.

wow that is a massive oversight, if i had any idea how the mods for this game were done i would almost want to make one just for splitting stacks. Seems like a really useful feature.
