Difference between 7,62 and Hard life?
Hard line forums are full of russians, so I came here to ask.

far more unforgiving of mistakes, weapons are stronger, less weapons overall, enemies more skilled, start with rebels for a few missions, need weapon permits in the cities to carry at all, dealers/con artists have far less cash on hand.

I'm sure there's more, that's just a quick list. It is a fun game though, for all it's difficulty.

No, blacklight was referring to Hard Life, as the name suggests, it is harder. I find the difficulty tapers off the longer you play HLA's plot line. Towards the end game, there isn't too much difference in difficulty. There is more micromanagement within Hard Life or HLA as it is referred to. I also find it to be a longer game in general. There is some effort put into adding most of the guns from Mercapocalypse into HLA, but right now it is available to the player but enemies are not equipped with the added content.

Both 7,62 (with BSM and Mercapocalypse Mods), and HLA have a lot of options that you can turn on and off for preference and to make things easier or harder.

With HLA you have to put up with a fairly crude english translation of their plot lines...it is understandable...usually. With 7,62 with BSM, you have to put up with R@S's humour. I find it amusing but to some it rubs them the wrong way.

Best way to figure it out is to try both. Enjoy.

Thanks Sanders. I'll try looking for both these mods. If there are anymore recommended mods, please feel free to mention them. Thanks again guys.

Oh right, I wrote a guide for about 1/3 of the campaign for BSM and Mercapoc. The first chapter has info about getting the mod installed, etc. Hope that helps.

I like Hard lifes UI more. ANd i like how accurate the guns are at farther ranges.

But i love BSM with Mercop due to the fun i get from the start

With HLA you get a linear beginning. and yea it has more micro such as actually having to remove weapons going into town etc. I just wish i could export the range and accuracy of HLA to BSM. same with the UI. and i would have perfect of both.

Im having a lot of difficulty dealing with HLA's weird added options with the dogtags and survival options. Since they are almost all text driven and have very little explanation where as BSM mostly just expands on what the original game already had it sometimes makes it hard to say that hard life is much of an improvement. Also, the "lack of translation" isn't just once every so, sometimes they just flat out decided not to translate some things from russian to this very day. And although i despise BSM's cringy humor it gets less obvious as you keep on playing. Its hard to make a choice because you need to really know both games to tell which one would you prefer but 7.62 isn't exactly a short game you can get to know in a few hours either.
