the order of event is swithced thats all. i deleted the guide because noone was reading it. first you need to go to the lady again and than the door should be open. thats about it

Put the crystal ball back on its stand in the bedroom after showing it to the old woman. Now look at it and wander around the pedestal looking at it, and the pedestal.

Also look at the mirror.

This is a truly evil puzzle but it can be solved.
