Dracula: The Resurrection

Dracula: The Resurrection

Don't buy these games!
They are terrible ports of classic games, the first one breaks right at the begining on Mac making it impossible to complete. A lot of content has been removed and they are completely broke.

I highly doubt the problems are going to be fixed anytime soon, as the developers haven't done anything about the complaints yet.

Instead of buying this spend your money on the original PC and PS1 releases if you can find them. The games are good and well worth the money, unfortunately the steam versions are not.

The original games can be bought from GOG.com (DRM free download)
Thanks for the heads up. And I bet that if you put effort into it, you're getting your money back. It isn't mentioned on the storepage that its a dumbdown/ipad version of the game, they even use the reviewscores of the original games. So they are clearly reffering to the original PC version released on 2000.
The original post was made on june 22 by the looks of it. I just want you to know that your post is still saving people money. I was about to buy this game, but I hate terrible ports where content is either falsely advertised, bugged, or stripped down and removed from the game. Thanks for the warning.

If you are interested in the original versions, GOG has them all (as I stated above)
Why is it that mac always seems to get the buggy games? Not that windows or linux don't, but it seems more often on Mac...
Just out of curiosity, what content is missing in the Steam version?
I have not compared them yet, but it seems that not only the graphics and video have lower resolution, but there are less videos and puzzles. And that the Steam version is buggier. I got them for the groupees bundle, but I wish I was given the GOG codes instead of these :(
I was about to buy the supernatural bundle at bundlestars because i had fun playing these games back in the day. Im glad i saw this post, im not giving my money for a dumbed down version of the game. Thanks for the heads up! :agathacross:

That bundle's still worth it for the other games, though.
The originals are by Anuman Interactive. This is "Meridian4"... good luck finding a game by Meridian4 that isn't absolute trash.

NOTE:
Other games like Robin Hood (GOG), Grotesque Tactics (GamersGate) and others are "Meridian4" ONLY on Steam. So one would wonder if they've hacked the hell out of those too. Not that I know if the non-steam versions are good or not, as I've not gotten around to them yet.

So instead of advising "stay away from these on Steam". I would think, stay away from anything by Meridian4 period. There's way too many games and way too many good publishers/devs to waste your precious time and money.
