Copper?
I can't seem to find any way to gain Copper to upgrade the tools. The item description does say where to get it (despite nowhere on the map being marked with that location, I eventually found it), but can't mine it, because it requires a higher level pickaxe.

So, I need copper to upgrade the pickaxe, but I need a upgraded pickaxe to mine the copper... that's problematic.

Is there some store that sells copper that I've missed or something?

Ah yes, that seems to be the case, thought he was to trade down, should've read what he said more thoroughly. Thank you for the response.
