Ideas from Ur-Quan Masters HD/6014

You might find some ideas in Ur-Quan Masters HD (my modern remake of the 1992 PC Game of the Year, Star Control 2), or Project 6014 (our fan sequel). In addition to the Super melee game (a lot like your game), there's also an awesome single player game with a fantastic story. If you notice similarities to the game Mass Effect, the creators were greatly influenced by the game.

There's about 25 ships in UQM-HD, and I think there's 30 in 6014. Each has their own unique abilities, and their own strengths and weaknesses.

Open source, free, multiple platforms.

Disclaimer: I'm a little biased. I love the original Star Control 2 game and did created most of the art for these games.

Ur-Quan Masters is one of my classic favourites for space combat (and Starcon2 for story!), I'm super stoked about Project 6014. I'll definitely check it out!

Gotta admit, when I first saw the video trailer for this game it immediately made me think of Star Control, specially in regards to when the ships went past the giant sun/planet in the middle, lol.

This game certainly looks and sounds promising, and if features/functionality from classic games like SC/SC2/etc come across then great.

(Oh and I'll also check out Project 6014 as I too loved Ur-Quan Masters)
