Gem costs from store are too much?

I'm fine with spending some money if it helps the devs and gets me something in return. As of the current prices in the shop for gems I can safely say I will never spend money on gems. The gem to price value seems so off. Opinions?

You can get 100+ gems per day for free from daily quest, battlepass, and active play rewards. All the money purchases are overpriced.

If I was making one purchase, I'd probably pick premium battlepass. But why would I pay $20 for an IAP in a silly idle game, when I can have a full game like Balatro for the same price?

Pretty much every mobile game has this same issue. Like @FSK said, not a great investment. I haven't seen anything in this game to spend money on that you can't unlock with time played. The only thing even remotely worth spending money on might be the game speed buff. And that's only if you're just wanting to tip the dev some coffee money.

The game speed buff is one I would NOT buy, because you can unlock 6x game speed as a free player after a few weeks.
I've bought a few upgrades, but agree if you plan to play for more 2 months the Battlepass upgrade fairly quickly becomes the best value because of the array of otherwise time-gated resources it throws at you. [though that may be more true for players who have more online time and less true for offline players?]

It is a bit unfortunate that if you buy it later you don't get back the value from prior months, which is a bit of a strange disincentive to buy it later (again, unless you're confident you're going to play for another 2+ beyond the purchase.

ill explain it like i did in discord. are the gems expensive? yes, absolutely. however i actually prefer this. They give out a TON of gems overtime, 100s a day. and more from battle pass and other stuff. in addition they also run sales with bonus gems or other stuff weekly. Buying gems shouldn't be seen as "how to get power" and more so it gives me SOME power, and gives the developers X dollars.

This is actually super nice because it keeps giga spenders in check and for the most part the stronger players are the ones that have played for a long time and gained resources for a long time, NOT the ones that walked into the game and slammed their wallet on the table.

that being SAID spending DOES give you some big advantages, just not in gems. buy the battle pass and 2X increases. these are PERMANENT (you buy one battle pass you buy them ALL forever every month). This is how you get the big bang for you buck but it takes time.
