Game does not save
I know a few people have this happen to them because there's a few mentions of it here, but has anyone solved this problem? If you're within the game you can exit to the main menu and resume progress, but once you exit the game, even though the save file is updated (looking at the timestamp), it's like the game doesn't load it when you open it again, and you lose all your progress.

Severely frustrated and mad over this. Running this on Windows 7.

This game is SERIOUSLY broken. This is the first time I actually regret spending ANY MONEY on a Tomb Raider game. Tomb Raider games (even Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light) were NEVER this broken (even Underworld wasn't THIS broken). I'm having this issue PLUS a crash issue whenever I die, so this game is literally unplayable/unbeatable. Don't know if there's any refunding options, because this is just intolorable and the Nixxes_official account hasn't been online for 30+ days, so there's no signs that he/she is coming back online to help us.

If you are doing stuff on the overworld, and then quit, you can lose your progress if you don't transition between areas. Happened to me once after grinding out 4000 gems (I've got 18000 now though so w/e). Transitioning between areas forces an auto-save and this will stop you from losing progress.

However, if your issue is something else than this won't work. You didn't describe your problem in much detail though, so who knows what issue you are having.

Well, when I say it's not saving, it's completely deleting my previous saves as well. This makes me restart the ENTIRE game ever single time the game crashes and I have to reboot and since I have a bug where the game crashes VERY FREQUENTLY, it literally makes this game unbeatable. I mean, unless you can beat the entire game within 1 life, you can beat it, but so far it's completely unplayable.

I hope this gets fixed in patch 1.2 (if there is one)!

God, I cannot WAIT to see what the devs have in store for us soddened victoms of their glitches and bugs. That is if they already haven't abandoned this game...

The devs have abandoned this game. Whole team was probably laid off right before or after release with the exception of a couple people. Certainly doesn't seem to have sold well enough to merit any patches.

It's a shame, as it puts a permanent stain on this franchise and they pissed over any goodwill gamers held over the previous (fantastic) game.

I hadn't been playing in hopes of a patch, but from the few times I fired up the game to try the first few levels, I think you may be able to get around the save bug if:

a) You have Steam Sync on
b) You delete your save file from your computer before you fire up the game (every time). Delete everything found under Steam\userdata\(your Steam ID)\289690,

If someone wants to try this and get far in the game, please post your results with this, so that other people don't waste their time.

You've been the most help for us all. I think we can all agree on that. I've previously used option B, and it worked- until I turned off my computer. The issue with this is that when I quit playing LCTOO, i'm usually tired of playing the game and I don't want to play it for the rest of the day, so this is a little bit useless. Option A is also kinda rendered useless as well because even with it turned off, the game still doesn't remember saves (Same thing if it's turned on, obviously). Steam cloud is pretty wack with this game. I did once get to the frozen part of the game (once you beat sobek) but I ended up stopping and the game didn't save. All that progress lost.
