if a friend join you, you can select another character, but your friend must play as Lara.
Lara is the main character, someone has to play her always.
Lara+Isis or Horus.
Lara+Isis + Carter
Lara+Horus + Carter
You can't go Lara+Carter. You must have Lara+Horus or Isis to select Carter.
And actually to elaborate on your statement Aries, in 3p, you do not have to have Lara. If players solely choose to, they can replace her with Carter. I had a room with myself as Carter and both Isis/Horus.
With that said I think we should be able to get the choice in 2p/3p/4p at the very least. If Lara can wield both her guns + the staff, then why can't Carter join up with her in 2p? They already have the stuff necessary to do it. So I would just have them port the source code from P1 Lara to P2 Lara if they really wanted to have another Arch with them. If the 2p decides to use Horus/Isis, then have her switch back to the other one. This is just a pain because the character I end up wanting to use more often is Carter just for the sake of doing so. However, due to stipulations I can't.
If the developers see this, it would be cool to have character variety in both single player (if possible) or at least in 2 players by themself.
Here come's Crystal Dynamics: "NOP."
HONESTY:
They made the game for 4 players, play as Lara and you will listen into the background what carter, horus or isis are saying, but you dont see them, they are invisible.
There is no proper introduction to Carter, Horus or Isis, no profiles, no extras, no art, nothing.
Not multiples savegames. (no save game slots)
You cannot save your game, is random. (like nobody cares if you play 2 hours and the content didn't save properly)
No mention of CLOUD SYSTEM, but there is cloud system, thats very important.
What they did very wrong:
-guns are the same as Guardian of Light, now with bonus effect.
We kinda want new guns and skins for them.
For u$20, we got a game focus in Multiplayer/coop (JUST FOR FRIENDS or make friends with out lag), plus, very good Puzzles and Arcade Adventure with guns.
It's a good game, is cheap, it works, it has to look slighly different from Guardian of Light.
NOTES: Traps do get Bonus effects, toxic, damage, thats cool.
If you didn't play Guardian of Light, get Temple of Osiris, it has more content.

Agent 47.
Classic Lara Croft (with huge boobs)
Wei from Sleeping Dogs
Final Fantasy Characters, XIII-2 is perfect, because both main characters travel in time.
They have options.
The game is FUN
-Be a jerk
-Let your friends die
-Explote your friend with your traps.
-Put a trap in front a friend so he can die during a escape escenario.
-Comment about who is hotter: Lara or Isis and select unlockable Bikini's.
I'm wishing they put a Bikini Skin for Lara or Swin Suit.
