Hey Devs,
I know that you probably won't see this, but I am puting this out there just in case. I have played the Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light with my dad and it is one of our favorite games. When we heard that you were making a second Lara Croft game, we were both excited! Until we found out that it is going to be made for DX 11 computers. My laptop can only play up to DX 10 games. If you guys would consider changing that, you would have at least two more fans that would love to buy your game. No only that, but you could also reach a wider group of people who might also like to buy your game. Would there be any possibility of there being a patch for this in the future?

I totally agree. I am in a similar situation. Adding a graphical option to activate or not DirectX11 feature is common in all recent games (it is even usually hidden and depends on the graphical compatibility) and I was surprised yesterday to discover that I can't launch the game on my desktop because my graphical card is not compatible with DirectX11.

The game is probably beautiful but Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was the last game I had in mind as a possible cause to make me change my graphical card!

DX 11 cards have been out for 4-5 years it's time to upgrade.
I have friends that can't upgrade and would love to play this game. DirectX 10 support would be great for them.

GeForce GT 430 is just 40 dollars guys
It's time to upgrade.

If you're using laptop, save some money & buy a new one.

the minumum requirement is a 5 series card and not a 4 series so the minimum would have to be a GT 520 which can be had for $45 if you shop around.

Except a GT 520 would be a significant downgrade for pretty much any directx 10 card and this game is pretty unoptimised and slow running for a lot of people as it is. IMO it's too early to be only supporting directx 11 and nothing else; sure it has some really nice features but I don't particularly see the benefits of those in a game like this.

This is not a question about age, but about performances. A lot of good graphical cards without DirectX 11 support are still used by a large number of players and allows us to play without any issue to games like Far cry 3 or the last Tomb Raider. Furthermore, if we want to upgrade to a card supporting directX 11, we need to have at least the same performance as our current card and this is not the cheapest ones. I finally decided to buy a Nvidia GTX 750 for 144€ to have a good compromise between performance and cost but it's difficult to find a best price.

The games like Lara Croft and the guardian of Light or Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are not empty games with good graphical features like Call of Duty, these games are all about gameplay. This is sad to have to buy hardware that costs more than 100 € to play to a game like this.

So I agree with Adie, it's too early to release a game without option to deactivate DirextX 11 features.

I have never said we should stick with old technologies forever. I have just said, it's too early to force people using the last released one.

Please check the statistics of Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

Only 15.26% of Steam users are ready to play a game that only supports DirectX 11. This a crazy to close the door to 85% of Steam users by forcing them to upgrade their software/hardware.

Utterly lazy to not include a DX10/11 option in a game made in 2014; especially a game that really gains nothing from the latter software and is only plagued by problems because of it.
