Where do I get the princesses needed to purchase the dragons at the shelter?

That is a major part of the game. Everybody wants one! Or as many as they can get. You sure you want spoilers?

The king in Portland has one, as does the king in Dragondor. Another source of real princesses is a small southern island without a king. Real princesses? Does that imply fakes? That might involve Portland and Inselburg. There are a few others but that is enough to get started.

This might be a small spoiler, but save at last one princess back until you run across a quest to make fake ones. If you use them up before the quest, you'll have to wait a long time before you can get another one.

Well, the only one I have used so far is the one from Portland which I gave to the black dragon on the mountain to get him to move to the shelter where he has dragons for sale. I assume that I will run across one soon. I have finished Portland and have my man on the throne. Where should I go next?

i am level 37 or so, and so far i have found roughly 10 real princesses and 20 fake ones from that quest. looking for more now.
