BUG? Elves with increased status
After arriving Aralan, I found that all the elves started to have increased initiative and speed (2 to 6) as well as physical and magic resistance. Does anybody else have similar problem?

Not a bug (I don't think!) -- there is an in-game explanation, but not hinted at until the final quest of the area.

Now that I think about it, this probably /is/ a bug (based on my own experience).

There is a ritual that you can spoil for the current king -- if you do, it is supposed to penalize the elves. I don't think this logic is firing properly, and it /always/ acts like you helped him complete the ritual. If so, that would indeed be a bug.

Thanks for your comment. I gave up to complete this quest, because I felt it is fairly impossible to deal with elves with incredibly high initiatives, speeds and magic resistance with 95%... I am playing Vampire in impossible difficulty and doing without "invisible summoner strategy". Will it be explained why this bonus is applied to elves in other locations?

The story reason given why the elves might have a bonus would only apply in this region (or, at least, it /should/).

Finally I found out that the bonus is triggered by a quest named Revenge of Fire, and I think originally the bonus should only be applied during this quest (druids are protected by the forest so they have physical and magical protection), and the bonus will be banished after completing it. So it has nothing to do with the ritual, I think.
However, in certain circumstances, the bonus will be accumulated and will not be removed after completing this quest... It is really ridiculous to see Druids with 4 or 5 speed, they walk around as if Repair Droids would do.

I just ran into this myself. I've had the Revenge of Fire Quest in my log for 25 levels (no typo) and I only now got around to finishing off the elven areas. I would never have figured it out without your post. Thanks :D
