A general post for people to unlock their map.
Spoiler alert. You get your map in Act 2 after the first main quest by going back to the cove you were ambushed.

First things first. To unlock an area, you need to stand on some glyth. Those are big and white. you can the little golden dust interecting sign when you are standing on it.

The first location is outside the woodcutters camp which you go to from the right of the city gate when your facing the outskirt and have the city behind you. When you leave the city gate via the bridge, you come across the gravedigger's board. Follow the signpost which points you to your right, saying woodcutters' camp.

once you reach the camp, go straight out the camp facing the abandoned village and look for a high standpoint where you can oversee the whole village on the other side of the pond. The broken stone bridge should be at your left.
The 2nd location is on the other side of the King's brother tent INN camp. Which is the first camp you come across when you left the abandoned village heading to the city. The camp right next to the guard tower place.

There are two high platforms connected by a fallen tree in between. Both of them can be seen when standing at the King's Brother facing North.

The lower platform is to the NW and the higher one is to the NE. You can see a wooden watch tower on top of the higher platform. Go onto the lower on and search for the fallen tree to the hight one. Then look for a SHIP when facing north on that platform. Climb onto the ship and unlock the map at the bowsprit.
ambushed how? i cant figure out the steps to get the quest.
I can fill you in on a few more.

The one in the Dark Forest and the Swamps, is at the Jaegar camp by one of the watchtowers on the perimeter.

The one for the free hunters, woodcutter, and farm is at the very top of the tower, up the hill from the woodcutter camp. Follow the road from the woodcutter camp towards the free hunter compound, while staying on that side of the stream. Look for a T that has one split going up, roughly halfway between the compound and woodcutter camp. You will fight a lot of ratwalkers as you climb, if you find a cave with them you have to crouch to enter along the way, you for sure have the right path. At the very top of the path, is a tower, which you need to use all your vaulting skill you can muster to reach the top of.

In general, if you look for the highest point in an area, your probably on the right track.

Finally found this one, thanks.
For a shorter version. As you go from the woodcutters camp towards the stone bridge (that you helped fix), 10-ish steps before setting foot on the bridge turn right and walk towrads the lake.
Note, the glyph at the top of the Freeman tower, where you need to cut a piece of the flag for a quest..

You have to look up into the sky, as the glyph is not positioned on the floor.

I'm sure it's a mistake, but it's never been fixed.
