Spreadsheet simulator?

I have completed the first 4 or so missions and I'm wondering if the game gets any more in depth. All the games I played so far were mostly spent dividing the route payment by the number of stages to find out which pay the most per stage. I would run at max speed and pause when I had enough money for a new truck or another route was completed. I never looked at the map other than to click on the industries. Is there more to this game?
