game breaking bug

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I was occasionally getting these errors where it would crash to desktop and the message would be a popup box saying "error in gc". Everytime I restarted though I was back where I left off. Minor inconvenience, whatever. This time it happened when I was reading the diary in the safe (which is in the house you come to in the dream locked by a 4 digit code). I restarted and it said my profile was corrupt and it F*ING DELETED MY ENTIRE GAME AND NOW I HAVE TO START FROM SCRATCH. F* that. Never buying anything from these guys again. I had just gotten the halfway done achievement too so it's not like I'm super early in the game.

Best thing about it? I wasn't even doing anything. I was just reading the text, then a few seconds later after I turned the page it crashed and nuked my save.

Don't know if this has any bearing on the problem, but there was a Unity bug some time ago that I believe has since been fixed. However, any game built with the buggy version crashes randomly on win7x64 with 'GetThreadContext failed'. Sometimes setting affinity reduces the frequency of this crash for some people. I'm attempting to play the version from game.giveawayoftheday.com and am running into this bug. Perhaps the Steam version suffers from the same bug. I believe that the only fix is to have the developer rebuild the game using the fixed version of Unity.

I also just experienced the corrupted profile bug.

The game is unplayable due to this bug.

I am having the same problem! At first, anytime it crashed, it restarted at the ending point, but then it said my profile was corrupt and deleted it! I do not wish to replay the whole game again. I believe I was about halfway through. Will Steam give me back a credit for this?

ah cr@p no hope for me then I've just started and its crashed three times, If I pause before moving seems to trigger it. I'm not even passed the third fuse lol. Was hoping for a patch link somewhere!, oh well

Can't even get past the intro video before it crashes every single time. There is no such thing as "setting affinity" in windows 10, so this isn't an option or potential fix on any modern system :(

This game keeps crashing. Would love a refund but it was part of a bundle... some of the other games in the bundle have crashed, too.
