Ascension to the Throne update

The game refuses to start and comes up with some error after the latest update. Even deleted the game and then reinstalled it and it forced updated that one also and that too wont start neither. (windows vista)

I am currently pissed since it worked fine and got somewhere in the game BEFORE the update.

Make sure to delete the game folder after uninstall so no old resource files remain. Do your run English version or German? What error it displays on launch?

Verify integrity of game : one file download - it's OK now

EDIT - IMPORTANT

Problem identified: the game crashes in 1600x1200 video resolution
Solution : "to check the integrity of the game cache" and replay in lower resolution

What is the native resolution of your display? The game may fail to set a video mode if it is larger than reported by Windows (1200 > 1080).

I am getting the same crash and error after the update.

Here seems to be my problem,

This happens only when starting the game. The screen goes blank and you hear the windows error sound and then when only pressing the escape button does the error screen come up.

I think 1280x1024 is set by default. If you have a smaller vertical screen size (1366x768 for example) the game may fail to launch the first time. Try to delete graphic.cfg file in the game folder, it should then set 800x600 or 1024x768 during first launch.

Sneaksie(RUS), thanks for your help. I did "exactly" as you said and now the game works. I am so very happy. Was very distraught that I couldnt play the game. Thanks again dude!

I looked for the game folder but I can't find it. I switched to windows 8 recently and I am still flopping around a bit using it.

Well on vista, (wheres c: is the main hard drive) I found it on here;

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\AttT

After finding the "graphic.cfg" file in the "AttT" folder, I did what "Sneaksie(RUS)" mentioned and simply deleted it. Then I started the game back up and it worked fine.
