well, just different people. There is quality in a lot of other games, just depends on personal taste
Unfortunately the game was released when the Russian gamedev was missing as a concept, so it was not widely popular, although it was quite interesting.

It happens because of the 1.06 version[aim-artificial-intelligence-machine.fandom.com] feature that protects player from camping hostile Mechminds near the building. It'll disable them. If player is far enought they'll be enabled again. Arena is just too small map for that. Use 1.04 or older patch fix this permanently.
Try Volcano Sector expendables plant[aim-artificial-intelligence-machine.fandom.com] with 1.04 or newer patch. There should be dozens of them there.
