I could be wrong.. maybe somebody can beat every level 1st try with no research upgrades.
Anyways.. end of day, are you having fun? :P
The game is brutal but relatively speaking fair, best I can say is experiment. You'll eventually find a combo that just works, so far it's the quad C for me. Being able to reliably 1-shot everything up to wave 16 plus piercing.....it's fantastic.
- Adding Accuracy mods to nearly-pinpoint weapons
- Adding Homing to extremely Accuracy weapons (except for certain cases like Hitscan + Sticky + Homing)
- Focusing on Accuracy, Range and Speed on weapons with a GIANT explosion or area radius
- Adding Knockback multipliers to weapons without Knockback
- Adding size multipliers to teeny tiny AAAA Minigun projectiles
- Passing up "+100% Projectiles, -100% Accuracy" on a turret or weapon that doesn't benefit at all from Accuracy
- Letting Biomass burn a hole in your pocket / feeling like "well I gotta buy SOMETHING this wave" (see below 2)
- Spending half your Biomass on heals before you've filled all slots
- Spending half your Biomass opening multiple slots at once before you have an item to put in them
- Holding LMB down constantly even when you don't need to be (see: frequent overheating)
- Using Fridge + Rime + Defibrillator on every turret
- Rerolling when you don't even have enough Biomass to buy anything that might appear
- Being afraid of "+90% Damage, -30% Firerate" or "+90% Firerate, -30% Damage" or not realizing how they both increase DPS
The items were designed to make you think, hence why most mods have negative stats attached to them. It's still hard in general though, but these are good pointers if you find yourself struggling.Do you have tips for reaching D5 wave 100? I always die around 60 regardless of my build. Or just fish for good rng?
Lots of builds will work but if you're struggling to find one: Focus with Plasmathrower + some simple straightforward perk setup like Fridge + Mirror + Extinguisher + Thermometer, then go for big DPS, Size, and put Sticky on it.
Ah actually yeah - maybe like, Fridge + Mirror + Defibrillator + uhhh I dunno Vice.
Also if coolant has been unlocked then putting that over thermometer is an option.
That very easily did the trick.
I used fridge, mirror, defibrillator, smokebomb, and went full dps + 1 sticky + 1 size for weapon mods. Turret mods were the -10% heat one, crit damage, and firerate.
