Hard mode changes
About to start a playthrough, but wanted to know how difficult hard mode is compared to the original. I remember the original being fairly hard in the latter part of the game, especially if you played blindly.

being careless in chapter 1 could kill Ein faster than I could think.

I haven't noticed much difference so far and I just finished chapter 1. It has been a long time since I've played this game though. We'll see if chapter 2 is any harder.

It started out somewhat rough, but Practice has made the rest easy so far. I think the biggest hurdle I've had so far was S-ranking Aghart.
I'm interested in that 1.04 update or whatever I heard about that adds a nightmare mode. If the translation is right, it sounds like you can use more party members in battle, too?? I wonder when that's coming...

1.0.4 was an update on Japanese Switch version.
Steam version has all its features (including Nightmare mode) from the start - but you have to beat the game once to unlock it.

Just finished a playthrough on hard + original (15 item cap). To me, the hardest parts were the early 2 chapters, and the very last one. and this was while grinding every item I got proficiency with training mode.
