Can I save the game without sleeping?

Right now, it seems the only way to save your progress is to go to sleep.

The problem with this is that on the early game, you miss events such as the guys knocking knocking on your door when you reload a save.

another issue, if game crashes right before you go to sleep after a good profitable day, that entire progress is gone because there's no other way to save than sleep, than that changes up the entire store discounts and the end of day pay will possibly be higher or lower.
