what is the bit miner used for? i bought the rig, but the rig needed gpu, so what is the bit miner for than?

It's basically same as the full rig but with much less power and no gpus are required for it.
Full rig with 6 best gpus give you 300 mining power and that small bit miner thing gives you only 20. I've bought a biggest shelf there is and just been adding those bit miners to the shelf. got around 40 of them so far.

How do you actually use it though? I bought a bit miner and its in my house but it hasn't done anything, theres no on switch, I don't know how to actually activate it.

you have to download the miner app on your computer. then just start the app and click on start mining

In my experience bitmining should be done towards the end of the game as the investements are big and the payoff takes time. Spending your cash on hiring streamers seems to be more effective.

I did the calculations. The biggest GPU costs 1800. Thats a total of 1800x6+300. Makes 11100 Bucks for 300 power (also you can count the equivalent of the small ones which is 15x400=6000). Meaning efficiency is 0.027 Miningpower per buck. The small have a mining power of 0.05 per buck. Even if the GPU is in sale for 1600 bucks it makes the mp only 0.03. That leads to the conclusion that the ROI (return of investment) is worse for the rig that for the small ones and the righ basically is just a worse option. Except there is a limit I dont know of yet.
