Where do they acknowledge that?

ah well.. got a notification it is on -50% sale, thought i check in again if maybe they grew some sense....... but they still insist we here in austria have to buy their kidified german version.... so, they could go on -100% sale and i still wouldn't pollute my steam collection with their crap...

Talked to a guy at gamestop about Wolfenstein. The only real way to get it in an uncensored state is to buy a console and order the game from the US. Steam converts any gifted keys to your region and even retail keys require you to have steam.

Or...

My guess is that a lot of people just pirate the ♥♥♥♥ out of this game.

No english support. Bloody ridiculous. I know, german laws still prohibit swastikas and the like( just not in movies, books, documentaries, but only in computer games, since they ARE EVIL ), but what the heck, why does this include Austria , Switzerland and so on ? Besides, the german language conversion simply sucks.

Being german myself I totally agree. I can understand the swastikas to some extent even though they will not convert you to a nazi. I can also understand that Wolfenstein might not be historically yet there are other games that come closer to history yet they cannot use swastikas for accuracy. On the other hand you have the Indiana Jones movies being mostly there for entertainment and those can depict swastikas. Honestly I can live with different symbols in the censored version.

But, what bothers me most is the german-only language thing. I watched voiceovers for english and german on youtube and sorry but the german versions just suck.

And I agree with many people here when it comes to the price. They could reduce it by 99% and I might consider buying it everything else is just laughable.

Does Steam convert your keys now?

Every key I activated so far (AvP, L4D2) has been uncut. The problem with Wolfenstein is the region-lock. Which is -unfortunately- for both Germany and Austria.

But yeah, forcing you to play in german because the english version has bad words like "reich" in it is just stupid censorship and shows how backwards and ♥♥♥♥♥like Germany is when it's about WW2. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suck it up guys.

Well that's what I meant by convert it takes any Wolfenstein key you might have and makes it a german version installation. I don't think there are many other games that have this region lock.
Oh okay. Yeah that sucks indeed.
Very few games that do have region lock. Stupid "feature".

I'm not that interested in this title, but to limit the languages is ridiculous, really ridcoulous. Why Valve accepts such company behaviours is beyond me.

So half a year later they still force the german language?
Really?

Has there ever been any reply from the devs yet?

they removed restrictions at least a bit in may, if you live in austria or switzerland its possible to activate the retail uncut/global(row) copies into the row version on steam (better look for a import because i dont know if that works for all local selled retail versions). so if you know a retailer what gots the uncut/global(row) edition you will get the row-edition on steam with english support and uncut, before that was restricted too. but if you buy on steam you still only get the censored version.
