Uncut edition in Austria?

Hi!

Anybody knows how one can buy the international, uncut edition here in Austria?
In Austria it is legal to play this game uncut, but where to get this verison?
Steam only let's me see the German cut-special edition.

Anyone knows?

I'd also be highly interested. Until a few days ago a rival shop (royal Penguin, if you get it) seemed to offer it, but the shop entry was updated.

I just got this reply from Steam Support regargin how to buy the full uncut English version of the game:

"Unfortunately, the full uncut original English version of this game is not currently available in your region from Steam.

We are unable to release any information on whether this game will be made available in your country.

The German version of the game is the only available on your region, we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Please refer to the Steam storefront for all news and information on the availability of this game on Steam."

I AM surprised and disappointed that it is not possible to get the full uncut game at Steam.

As I know it is impossible, because in Germany and Austria this game is not only not offered on steam, but also geo locked.

If you get a uncut key it would probably work (try a key from anywhere else in the world)

After some research i discovered the following: You can activate an international key in AT, if you purchase the key abroad. The game works, is fully uncut and completely in English. I tried this and can confirm that it works. However I am pretty sure that it is against the rules to write in which store you can buy these keys. So do some googling, buy an international key and activate it.

Ich habe jetzt folgendes raus gefunden: Man kann in AT einen im Ausland erworbenen Internationalen Key einlösen und das Spiel ungeschnitten in Englisch spielen (Habe es selber so probiert, und es HAT funktioniert). Allerdings glaube ich, dass es nicht erlaubt ist, hier zu erwähnen, WO genau man ihn kaufen kann. Also googeln und einen internationalen Steam key kaufen.

It is legal to play the full uncut international verison of Wolfenstein in Austria and the Switzerlands. Bethesta released the geo-lock for this two countries already years ago.
You can read this in several Austrian news from 2014 (in German).

I just recently spoke to a Bethesda employee on exactly that topic ... I'm from Austria as well and I'm very pissed because of companies forcing us Austrian gamers to be subject to German law ...

Well, I've recently bought Wolfenstein: The New Order through Steam and immediately saw that I've gotten the "German Edition" ... so I contacted Bethesda support. I told them that I'm not German and thus NOT subject to German law and would like to play the uncut version.

This is what they replied:

Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Customer Support, my name is *** and I would be happy to assist you today. Unfortunately, as far as I know, the games are loaded based on your region. So because Austria and Germany are tied together, playing the English version might not be possible.

For further inquiries on this subject I would suggest contacting Steam Support.

To contact Steam Support for any purchase issue or specific Steam error messages, you will need to visit Steam's website.

In short: They don't give a crap and have tied Germany and Austria together to some kind of release region. Steam will most likely claim that Bethesda has to fix our "issue" so we're pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ... sorry for the bad words, but this kind of gets to me ... It's been the same back in the day when South Park - The Stick of Truth was released that Austrian citizens became subject to German law just because some company suits don't care ...

Can someone confirm that this works? In that case I'd get a refund on my Steam purchase of Wolfenstein: The New Order and get the international uncut version.

But without kidding, Bethesda's lawyers have no clue about German, Austrian or any other law except US law.
So your best bet is find a friend in the European Union, ask him to send you the uncut version as a gift and repay him somehow.
