not the real you.
but looks like they have a updated map of marien in this game. you could say there is a bit of overlap here.
Also, a battle royale mode it seems. Not sure what every mode will be there, it's likely to be everything except zombies, atleast for awhile.
The guys making WarRock2 have no affiliation with Dream Execution or Papaya. They're basically honoring the spirit of the game and updating it to be more modern. When War Rock released back in 2007ish, it was marketed as a war FPS game, where you could drive tanks, fly helicopters, jets, hummers, motorcycles, etc.etc. It was presented as a War game, basically. As time has gone on, WarRock has aged. The FX aren't as good, the character models aren't great, the network issues have existed forever, hackers ruled the landscape for so many years, and the greediest publishers always get their hands on the gem that is WarRock and ruin it with MTX.
I hope the guys making this new game don't lean super heavy into MTX. I hope every gun is available in the shop and they just sell *permanent* camos and skins.
Big ups, this look like a faithful adaptation from the videos I've seen. I hope they implement the roll mechanic correctly, and allow bunny hopping to an extent. How a game feels when you play it is more important than how the game looks. As a warning to the devs, try not to deviate too far from the original movement system. I'm sure plenty of people would agree no stamina bar + infinite sprinting in exchange for no rolling would be cool, but I think the charm of WarRock was the fluidity of movement & the cover to cover gameplay to be successful. They already nailed the visuals from what I've seen, I just hope they implement the movement system correctly. Otherwise, it's gonna be a huge turnoff for alot of people.
Same.
No interest in playing it if I can't move around like I could in WR1. For me, the movement system is what separated WR from other shooters.
Just to clarify a few things:
The maps shown in the videos I uploaded to YouTube were from an early stage of development—that was confirmed directly by one of the developers.
Also, despite what was mentioned, the team behind this project does have ties to Dream Execution. The founder of NevithGames Co., Ltd. is actually the former founder of Dream Execution, so there’s definitely a connection there.
From what I’ve seen and heard so far, this is shaping up to be a modern, state-of-the-art FPS that takes clear inspiration from the original Warrock—bringing back familiar maps, weapons, and gameplay elements. There will also be looting, which hints at the possibility of a battle royale mode or something similar, though that’s just speculation on my part.
Regarding the movement system—I get the concerns. But let’s be real: they’re not going to recreate the exact old-school mechanics in Unreal Engine 5. It wouldn’t really fit. And honestly, I doubt the original Warrock player base is the main target anymore. There aren’t many of us left, and those who remain are often too nostalgic—they would reject any new feature the moment it feels different. I can already hear the complaints: “Where’s the roll?” and so on.
That said, I’m hopeful. If they manage to strike a good balance between modern gameplay and the spirit of the original, we might just get an awesome new game that both old and new players can enjoy.
