Doll Impostor

How do negatives work?
Ok this might be confusingly worded but basically I played daycare in hard mode and the active clues were: tea, trains, sandbox, and cracked glass on Ari. this narrowed it down to Panda or Kendro, but there were no differences between them in the active clues. I guessed Panda as a 50/50 and got it wrong, and when I looked at the activity I saw that swings, seesaw and tunnels had been negatively activated (with an X).
Basically my question is how am I supposed to tell if a doll dislikes something or just hasn't activated it. It's fine in easy and normal when all the clues are activated eventually but in hard and nightmare it's much harder to tell since less clues will be activated. I understand that some clues can be checked with traps but not everything is able to be trapped, and idk if traps work retroactively (ex. if i turn on the tv after the game has marked it as being off, will the doll go back and turn it off or will it stay on?)
Anyway sorry if this was confusing to understand ^^;

To make sure that he does not like something you have to see his behaviors, in this case you can activate castles, swings, trains and cars, if any of these turn off or stop acting it will be that he does not like it
