I've seen one guy who gets this bug every single time he hosts a game. Haven't seen it anywhere else yet.

Hi! Try having someone else host the game :)
Taehl Apr 16, 2024 @ 10:19am
Not all of us are privileged with good enough Internet connections to host games. How about you guys fix this enormous bug instead of trying to sweep it under the rug, Botten Hanna?

You don't have good enough internet to host a small game? Regardless they are fixing bugs always but you or your friends not having good enough wifi is not a "Dev Issue". Afford to get better wifi is what I recommend.

Let me translate.

My parents won't pay for internet, so we steal it from a neighbor. Whenever they use the microwave my internet dies. This is 100% a problem with the game and not with my neighbor's WiFi.

I unfortunately do not. I'm in a very rural area, and tethering through my phone is faster than the local mockery of an ISP. There's only one TSP that actually has coverage out here, and the data is pretty bad in both latency and throughput. The few times I've successfully managed to host games, other players have always told me it's a lagging, rubber-banding mess for them. I'd rather be the only one lagging, instead of forcing it on everyone else.

Wrong on every count. You're not contributing anything to the conversation, and your stupidity isn't funny. Grow up, little troll.

PS: Were you trying to shame me just because you imagined I was poor? Then you're a disgusting excuse of a human being, I hope you end up homeless.

If you do not have a broadband connection, you cannot play any games that uses a constant high speed packet system. Radio based networking means you are sending and receiving data in a alternating process. Broadband connections can send and receive data simultaneously. And packets sent over frequency is prone to get lost.

Like no action games. If it works, you have rubberbanding because the program tries to reconnect consistently to a fault, but if it doesn't work, it's so the game can preserve it's gameplay without hindering the other players.

Content Warning uses a system that demands high download and upload speeds to send video clips to each player, meaning the encoding and decoding period would be insanely long (with multiple packet loss over rural internet) if your network can't be stable.

You are better off playing old school games made from the 90s to early 2000s because their netcoding is more lightweight and simplistic.

Yeah, that's pretty consistent with what I've seen, older / less action-oriented games are usually more viable.

That being said, I got CW when it first came out and was really impressed by how well it worked on my connection (as long as I wasn't hosting). Just a little intermittent rubber-banding, nothing game-breaking at all - even while I was using the camera! But it seems like more and more issues have been appearing with recent patches. :(

Sorry to hear about the issues. We're looking into it!

Yep, I also have this issue constantly - no matter which one of us (4 people) hosts, at times we order items twice in a row and nothing spawns then at the 3rd time it will appear, the next day it the 2nd order will spawn and none other (as in it's random when it works)

We're looking into this and would be really thankful if anyone experiencing this issue could send your player logs to support@landfall.se so we can take a further look. (Found in Appdata/Local Low/LandfallGames/Content Warning/player.log and player-prev.log)
