Arachnophobia Mode

Greetings. Posting this thread as a request for an Arachnophobia mode in the game.

I have a friend who had a great time with the game until we came across the spider monster.
She enjoyed the game, but really couldn't bring herself to keep going due to the known presence of the spider monster.

I'm sure my friend here is not the only one with Arachnophobia within this community. Much appreciated if Arachnophobia mode can be implemented so there isn't a limit to which friends can I play the game with.

She did not ask for this phobia. We all have things we fear intensely, and it's beyond immature to mock someone because there is something they feel very uncomfortable about.

I am merely trying to draw the attention of the devs to this topic/request and asking for the game to be also accessible to those who enjoy the game but feel uncomfortable with something in particular within the game.

This will be the one and only time I will be pointing out such childish behaviors, as an attempt to verbally put a stop to any further pointless mockeries.

Waaa I want to play scary game but without the scary. What makes people like this?

Phobias are not to be confused with fears. I understand the confusion, because it can be said that someone with a phobia of x reacts in fear of x. While this is true, a phobia is far worse a reaction and can be associated with non-threatening things. Spiders are a common phobia, despite most being unable to harm us; the person will experience extreme paralysing fear, panic attacks, and go to great lengths to avoid it regardless of threat or species.

This is something they can't avoid - this game is hardly scary, at least from my own experiences. I can't say that others won't be scared, of course; but looking at it for myself, nothing is scary and so a phobia being changed won't ruin anything for me, especially if it's a client-side setting for that person. I lack any phobia, although I had a minor spider fear as a kid observing my parent's phobia of them.

I think a phobia mode in the future, once bugs are fixed of course - would be a welcome addition to the game, even if I myself won't use it. Have fun spookin' out there, folks! o/
