So. I've noticed something.

There's something strange going on with how it handles temp files.

I used to have a none standard temp file that went to G:\Temp Files

I noticed the f3 video extracts went to this, which should be all fine and dandy. But i guessed this would be what caused the issue.

So I changed it back to the system default temp file.

Then it worked for the next few games.

Then I quit for a while, played some lethal company since it got a new beta. Came back. It wasn't working, and it was sending the temp files back to the old location.
Now. My temp file folder actually said it was going to the system default (%appdata%\local\temp)

but now, it was going back to g:/Temp Files for no reason and it stopped working.

Maybe you guys should have it create a bespoke folder location in %appdata% local or elsewhere instead of putting them in the temp files. That might... fix it? maybe????

It's worth a shot I think.

I also have a non standard temp file location, i think this might be the cause of the error. Your solution sounds pretty good imo.

I've done some further testing and completely fixed the error by reverting the location of my temp files back to the original (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp). It seems like something about the video creation doesn't like the temp files being in a non standard location. I hope this helps someone having this issue.

Hi! This usually happens when your drivers/graphics card doesn't work correctly or are too old, please make sure your card is equivalent of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 ti or AMD R9 380 or higher to be able to play the game. The bug where you're unable to see the video on the TV? Do you also get an error that says "file not found" or "failed to get video path" when using the camera?

It can happen if you have a space or an apostrophe in your Windows username, the game then has problems saving the video to your computer. Usually it can be fixed if you change the location of where Windows saves temp files (the game recordings are stored in the temp folder), you can follow these steps:
  1. Open Windows Settings > System > Select “About” in the panel to the left > To the right, select “Advanced system settings”.
  2. Select “Environment Variables” in the window that pops up.
  3. Select “TEMP”, click “Edit” and choose a new location that is not in the “Users” folder on the C: drive. Make sure that the folder where the game recordings get saved doesn't have a space or an apostrophe in the name.
  4. Do the same for “TMP” (it should be the same location on both TEMP and TMP). You may need to restart your computer before Windows will save temp files in the new location.
