Unable to pick up items

I can interact with other items by pressing E, such as opening doors and getting into bed, but I can't pick up the flashlight and camera. When I press E, the object just flickers briefly and remains in place.
I've tried repeatedly re-entering the game and changing key bindings, but to no avail. If this isn't a widespread bug, I suspect it might have something to do with network restrictions in my region (china)?

I have this too.
I'm playing in local network from mac through crossover (where are the problems), and from steamdeck (where no problems).

Problems are: can't pick up anything, and can't host (just rotating circle on creating a game)

I tried to join and play - also can't pickup or change current item in inventory.

Hey, I'm experiencing the same thing! (10 hours after post was made). Letting yall know its widespread.

Same problem, I'm using a MacBook and crossover emulator to run the game, everything works well except that I can't pick up items (The item briefly disappears then appears again) and I can't host games

PS I'm also in china which can be the problem with hosting the game lol

I ran the game as administrator in the game files folder and everything worked

I’m in crossover and experiencing similar issues, unfortunately it is “unsupported” but any way to get us mac users involved would be nice. :)

I am also playin on mac and btw do you have a problem when you are stuck in place and the cursor appearce

Rightclick on the game in your Steam library, select Manage -> Browse local files , then rightclick on the Content Warning.exe file in the local files and choose Run as administrator.

Thanks for your help, but I dont have the option to run as admin when I right click on it :(
