How far does the putter hit ? , Why is there no indication of distance putter hits I have never ever seen such dumb design in a golf game. Every golf game ever at least tells you how far the putter hits , has indicators. This is dam annoying and makes the game a farce to play. Whoever is behind the design needs to buck up there ideas. Game has been in early access so long now and still , yes still very little improvement. As well this frustrating putting , avatar stands at stupid angles , blocks view , ball floats really slowly. The whole game just seems sluggish. When is there going to be major improvements or this what were stuck with ?

Thanks

its early access and still better than 99 percent of the dross supposed to be finished. If you delve a bit deeper and read some of the forums youll be furnished with good advice. This is by far the best golf game there is and yes its still early access....so its only going to get better. Give yourself a chance and you will be rewarded with a golf simulation on your pc.

Im sorry Sandy but I have to disagree , it's not the best golf game and not even close. If it was I would say it is as im an avid golf fan. It's just my opinion though , I am pleased your at least enjoying the game.

Space bar removes avatar when your view is blocked, so you can remove that from your list.
As for your other comments, I tend to agree but I'm sure they will be sorted.
On the other hand I would have to also agree with Sandy.

Not even close? What is the best? WGT? The Golf Club?

Come on, since the death of the TW franchise, this game is certainly the best replacement so far.

I'm biased because I love motion swing and this is the first game with quality motion swing since Tiger Woods.

You can adjust your difficulty settings to utilize the Easy Putting method... which has a putting flag on the meter.

Alternatively, anyone can setup a practice round with mulligans, go to any green, and test out some distances... in order to figure out how hard to hit a given putt, in a given situation.

A dedicated flat practice green would be an improvement, but it only takes a few rounds to figure it out anyway.

I understand that , but the one with the flag on the power meter makes it so you just have to hit the flag on the meter , it's to easy. I dont understand why they cant just put putter distance on the meter with indicators so i still have to work out the power but have some sort of guidance to distance putter hits.

Well on a flat green at stimp (speed) 10, the 9 o clock is around 32 feet, and the 12, o clock is around 75 feet. But if you're not on a flat green or the green is a different speed you will have to use your judgement. I guess at easier levels we can put some sort of distance indicator on there but then we would have people saying "The ball didn't go 32 feet" when they had a downhill putt on a stimp 14 green. In this regard PG is a little different than the usual 'dial a distance' putting mechanic you see in some other golf games.

I understand what your saying. I love a challenge but with no indicators it makes no logical sense you cant simply guess the distance if you know what i mean. The reason power meters have indicators on is because it's the only logical way to do it. Just my opinion.

I disagree with you about no indicator of distance for putting. I use a clock face 7 o'clock, 8 o'clock and so forth to roughly hit the power I want. With the dots added in the latest update hitting proper power is better. I learned to judge a putts power by taking notes for distances of putts over a variety of stemp conditions and firmness. Not an easy task but do-able.

Anyway If you do not like the 3 click putting meter you could switch to the simplified putting meter that is available by turning it on in the "My Player" settings under difficulty. PG has many options to make the game enjoyable for everyone.

When this game came out at the beginning in early access in January 2015 I got the impression and I think it was because of statements made by the devs that the game is intended to give you a feel for what it is like to play actual golf wherein you must putt by feel more than calculations and when using motion swing it is more about feel and tempo than calculations with all shots you make and this game for me and I think most others accompishes that and then when compared to most other or all other golf pc games they do not. But from just checking the current early access presentation that is posted as of this very second it seems they have changed the indept explanation of what they are desiring to create and have simply stated the term "hyper realistic gameplay" which can work - this game does offer an atypical pc golfing experience that is realistic - hence for example the type of putting mechanics you are faced with but it may help to learn about the game prior to jumping in and playing it their are so many options of ways you can set it up and keyboard shortcut keys to address some of your issues - this game allows more customization than other golf games so that you can obtain the experience you want from a pc golf game this one offers it. There is a list of the improvements from the early access release back in January and it is quiet extensive you may be interested in completely understanding your comment where you mentioned it has had very little improvement I think you may find you were not accuratte. Early Access is not toleralble for everyone evidently - but we would like your input

In PG, as in real life, you learn how hard to hit a putt through practice. Since the aim of PG is to recreate as closely as possible, the game of golf, there is no reason why they should spoon feed you the putting distances. It is up to you to learn them. That is the game of golf.

lol such a stupid reply. This is not real life it's a game. If I was holding a club in front of my tv maybe i'll get a feel. Stop talking complete nonsense you sound like a complete idiot with what you just said. I will not waste time on people like you.

You know I've noticed that same thing in playing real golf. There's nothing to tell me how far to take the putter back or how hard to swing it. I guess this game is just too realistic.
