Sticky Bug Thread!
Got a crash bug, a corrupted save, or something that needs fixing? Feel free to post about it here. This thread is checked often, but not quite as often as the Discord, which is another great place to go for support.

After my character died I received a message stating my save in slot one was corrupted and my academy was lost. I sent an email to the support email also listed in the message (support@dungeonmans.com) two days ago but have not received a response. Can you assist in helping rebuild the academy as the message suggested? I love the game and want to play again but can't until I know if you'll be assisting, since if you do I'd have to start over again with a new character at that point.

Sorry if these are repeats. Reading 80+ pages of bug reports is kind of a tall order:

* Stremf stolen from summoned allies like Decoymans or Gravemooks by a Champion Lich is added to your Dungeonman when the Lich is defeated (difficult to avoid exploit, but graveyard dungeons are so fun and rewarding!)

* Identifying a ring via the context menu (by left clicking) shuffles the order of your rings. The new order is not reflected until you close and reopen the rings tab in your inventory, so if you try to equip the ring you just identified, for example, you will equip an essentially random ring

* After equipping The Duchess's Icy Grasp once, all your bolts of foom will be ice type forever regardless of your staff's element, even if your remove them.

* Selecting a different skill with the mouse while targeting with Searing Ray will orphan the effect

My Slot 2 save file now crashes immediately on load attempts. The game was crashing constantly when nearby, or going through, fog of war areas. I couldn't explore more of the map because of the nonstop crashing in those unexplored areas. Stupid me, I teleported to an outdoor battle area right next to the fog of war and entered and beat it. Upon exit from the fight, the game crashed, and now it crashes immediately when attempting to load. Lvl 13-14 guy, decked out... I'm bummed.

i'm pretty sure i got him to fix this one eventually but not sure about the others

I can confirm that this is still happening as of yesterday, so if it's fixed, it's not in a public build yet.

100% crash bug (maybe also known issue):

(1) Summon a large group of enemies by opening a golden chast in the Dread Spire.
(2) Move the large groups of enemies into a single tile using Big Bamf with a staff equipped.
(3) Kill the large enemies with an AOE attack, such as Foom from the Skies.
(4) Crash!

Note: I suspect that this happens with any large group of enemies in any location, and I can confirm that various AOE attacks also cause the issue (I've even done it with a staff attack!)

100% repro for paper doll render issue (an instance, there may be multiple):

(1) Open you inventory by pressing 'i'
(2) Open your skills pane with the mouse
(3) Select a skill that requires a target such as Big Bamf
(4) Your paper doll gets all screwy

I'm immortal.

Everytime my dungeonmans takes lethal damage, the game crashes and my save reverts back to the latest save. This, while extremely useful for surviving purposes, prevents me from retiriring in any way.

I haven't tried setting up my own shop on another character, but when I do it on this character the game crashes and when opened the game again the shop has spawned on the map, allowing me to dupe items extremely easily.

Also, a crash occured when I had defeated a pandemonium floor and the portal had disappeared when i reloaded. I tried to escape using a carefully escape dungeon scroll and it just teleported me across the room (though I don't know if those actually scrolls work in the pandemonium so I'll just presume it's a bug) and said i was in the overworld. I then tried to use The Way Home but I apparently couldn't use it within a dungeon.

I've been diagnosed with a terminal illness and am soon off to hospice to die. Don't worry about fixing my save file anymore. I'm trying for a little levity in my life because what I just said is 100% true.

I bequeath the time it would have taken to fix my save to a needy gamer in an impovershed third world region with poor internet speed.

Necomancing here I know, but I just got the same bug. The boss was on his last hit to die but also I activated one of his triggered abilities I guess and instead of dying he just stands there going into negative hp.

I'm not sure what causes it but pretty much every other time I either die or return to the splash screen, the game locks me out of selecting anything, including exit. When this happens I need to use Task Manager to close the game. The game works fine until the next death or save after that.

I'm running the game on Win10

Hello. I have an issue where my dungeonmans is stuck at -3 health, but the game isn't recognizing that he should be dead to let me restart. I can even spend the skill point he has, but can't keep playing so it doesn't really matter. My save is pretty much hosed until I can get this fixed.

What combat log? That thing that deletes itself after a character dies so you can't see what killed them? Cool. Is there a way to NOT restrict the player from seeing what killed them? Isn't that a thing? It is for the...gosh..hundreds of roguelikes I've played befor, you know, to learn what killed you? Dungeonmans, as great as it is....doesn't actually show you what killed the character. Most cases you can figure it out but there's been a good chunk of times that I NEVER knew what killed off my character. The only reason the game won't get a perfect score from me.

So I somehow managed to equip the same Icedamned ring in two different ring slots... I was trying to figure out how to equip the skills it grants, and dragged it towards my hotbar, but I got the "You don't want to unequip this item" message... and then it was in my right hand slot as well. Also, I'm pretty sure it was in that slot on top of the item that was already there, since clicking on that slot then moved the ring there to my third ring slot, and unequipped the ring that was in that slot...

I can confirm that the effects of the ring aren't actually doubled; I'm only regenerating one mana per turn. I used Eat Curse to get the ring off, and moving it unequipped it from both slots.

Also, a third thing; my bolt of foom element seems to be locked to ice now, despite the fact that I have a flamewrought staff equipped... I'm guessing that's just an effect of Icedamned, except unequipping it didn't change it either...
